Jun 16, I don't believe you can root herbaceous peonies from stem cuttings. You need a division of a tuber with an eye on it to get a herbaceous peony to grow. Tree peonies are a different animal all stumpdrop.clubg: Katy TX. For these three cuttings, the medium is only sand,the other one's medium is normal soil used for tree peony.
